Hey, I have joined CC as a true start for my weight loss(hopefully). I am in my final year at university and want get healthy and lose(some) weight before i have to start work.

Starting this topic to keep me on track as i have tried to lose weight many times before and failed. Lots of tips needed.

I will weigh in once a week, please feel free to do the sameSmile

what day is weigh in day?

I was wondering what kind of calorie intake you all follow? I was thinking about following the biggest loser plan of 7 x body weight.  That would set me at 1575.

Am I the only person who is still using this thread? Cry i liked the motivation.  Well then I'll post.  size 18 is now too big for me!  I need to wear a belt.  The 16s are still way too tight though

 Hey I'm still here!!! That's cool the that the 18's are too big that's a step in the right direction! My pants are starting to get too big too! Good job keep up the good work!

I'm actually shooting for right around 1200 per day.  Here is why.  I know my counts aren't totally accurate, so I assume I'm around 200 calories or so a day off.  So since my goal is around 1500 a day, counting to around 1200 works.  I know I'm getting a bit more than that, but it keeps me from getting to high.  Plus, I'm eating lots of food and I'm not hungry.  I'm just eating healthier.  Lots of fresh fruit and veggies.  And to answer your question, Tuesday is weigh in day. 

Is it to late to join? You ladies sound like great women who have a lot to offer. I started here on March 1st. Im getting married at the end of October.  When I found this forum this morning I thought it was perfect because I already weigh in on tuesdays anyways. If its not to late I will go ahead and post my stats. Im 22 years old 5'7".

Starting weight: 254

Current weight as of last tuesday: 237.2

Goal weight for October: somewhere between 180-200.

Ultimate goal weight: 150

Hey don't worry I am still here and am desperately trying to increase my exercise so i get another loss on tuesday. I got some new jeans that i absolutely love and although size 16 are a little on the tight side Frown (i think the sizing is a bit wrong as i have others from the same shop size 16 that fit fine or too loose) but anyway thats my new incentive to be able to have enough room that i dont have to ask someone to put my socks on for meEmbarassed when wearing the jeans as i cant bend over in them. Does anyone else have any non-weight orientated goals?

 jenstaples - I'm also getting married in October!  October 4th.  We're pretty similar in weight so looks like we have around the same goals for our weddings!  I would LOVE to weight 175 by my wedding.  I've lost 30 pounds in 3 months and think another 60 over 6 months should be doable (HARD but doable) Let's still do a weigh in on Tuesday.  We can push each other!  DId you get your dress yet?  I bought mine a size smaller so that is also motivating me!

I'm going to start working out during the week in the mornings before work.  I think this might help me lose more weight.  I find when I do workout first thing in the morning not only do I feel bettter throughout the day, i lose more weight.  :)

Ive been at this since March 1st and am down 16.8 so far. I would like to get down to 180 by my wedding but if I only make it to 200 but build more muscle and lose some of the extra skin I will be happy with that. I have not gotten my dress yet because I have to have it specially made to be the design that I want. (we are having a themed wedding.) Im going next saturday to take to them about it.

I would work out in the morning but I like to have that time to myself in the mornings and I have a friend that works out with me so we do it in the late afternoons or early evenings.

I would love to know what you were doing to have lost 30 pounds in your first three months.

i'm still here too. i just get distracted when other threads show up and this one gets bumped to the bottom. i've been doing really good this week. in fact, it's taken everything in my power for me to not cheat at some point and get on the scale because i've been doing so well. i'm really excited for tuesday.

i'm not going to lie, i'm a little bit frustrated too. i haven't lost anything in inches. at least not that i can tell. my pants are DEFINITELY still fitting the same. i know i've lost weight, but until i see the inches, i won't really care. i just want to go down a dress size!! 

Hmm, I've been doing a bit of what everyone else has been doing.  I've been losing around 2-3 pounds a week.  I workout at least 5 times a week and burn 700 calories each time I go.  I cut my calories to 1250 per day and don't eat any breads/rice/crackers.  I eat a lot of fruit and veggies and protien shakes and lean meat (and vitamins!).  That's about it.  I also eat 2 snack s a day under 100 calories each (with as much friut and veggies as i want)

I've tried eating -6 pieces of fruiit and 3 servings of veggies a day.  a lot of tea to help keep me full and 12 glasses of water, and also chicken stock!  2 cups will between lunch and dinner (i add hot cayan pepper) keep me full for only 10 calories.  I guess its all consistency.  :) and self control for me!  I used to binge eat and now that is rare for me.  I also splurge once a week on something high in calories to keep my metabolism up.  let me know if you need help with anything! 

Also make sure you vary your workouts.  one day elliptical the next day running the next day the stairclimber, so your body doesnt get used to it.  Also try changing the resistance and speed so your going full speed/resistence for a few minutes, then decrease it for a few minutes.  This has helped alot!

hey - im 5'7" and was at 190 two years ago and had lost 37lbs. what really helped for me was kicking up my cardio work out so my metabolism built up so it burned the food i ate. I ate raw fuits and veggies for the first week, skim milk and water, water, water. i hit a plateau then just kinda stopped working out a bit and gained a bit over 10lbs... so now im at 165 trying to get back to my goal of 135 that i used to be at!

Good luck - you can all do it, you got some healthy goals. But ya - my main thing that helped me work was working real hard the first week just to know it worked and did vigorous work outs at the gym... ps i did lose my social life for  bit at first by spending so much time at the gym... so do it now and have fun come june!

Hmmm...weigh in tommorrow.  Anyone else nervous?  I didn't do as good as I would have liked to this weekend.  Luckily, I have today to get back on track and drink lots of water, do a good workout and eat better than usual to try to compensate...

When I can accept the way I look in pictures. I am going to go get cheesy glamour shots! I don't mean once I've hit my goal weight, but as soon as I can see a picture of myself and not go, "UGH!". A lot of that has to do with self esteem in general, so I expect to hit this goal pretty early on, as soon as I see the scale going towards 20 lbs lost, or more, I will probably be rockin the goofy grin constantly, which will greatly benefit my stature, and they way I look when I pose for pics.

What is the theme for your wedding?

 The theme of my wedding is a horror drive in. We are getting married on halloween so we are having a 50s style drive in theme.

Congrats to all the ladies on here geting married! So exciting. I'm getting married next June.. So I have a way to go, but I have started losing my weight already.Last time I weighed in I was 203 I started at 217. So we will all look bangin on our weddings if we can keep it up! Good luck ladies!

Im going to weigh in right after i get back from the gym in the morning ;) lol.  I hope to be 228 tomorrow. 

We'll all look hot on our wedding day no matter what!  even if were not at our "ideal" weight.  Just keep remembering that you are healthier today than you were yesterday!
