Hopefully there are some people out there who are around my age and want to lose about 20 lbs! I used to drink a lot and eat a ton of junk food and my body is def. feeling the effects. Not only that it looks it. Well I was hoping to get maybe a support system going or even just a topic to talk about some ways of getting slim and healthy again!!! Thanks!

Hi there!  I'm 25 and I have about 8 lbs to lose.  I know it's not 20 but I'm short and it will take me forever to lose 8 so hopefully I can still be a part of your thread.  I can definitely relate to the drinking and junk food.  I just got married and my husband and I like to drink wine...lots and lots of calories there.  Plus I am way too addicted to candy.  My main focus is health as well.  I think my first step in getting healthy again is to start drinking more water.  That's the goal this week.  :)  What are your initial goals?

Hi! I'm 26 and have about 20 lbs to lose. I gained too much during pregnancy, and was a little heavier than I'd like to be even before I got preggo.

I've been going to the gym 3 times a week for the past month and somehow I gained about 5 lbs.... :( so I'm at 155 now and would love to be 135.

My eating habits are what's to blame I think. I'm just so hungry all the time, I don't understand it! This week I'm trying to eat less junk (cookies and tortilla chips are probably the worst) and drink a little less... I started having a few drinks a week when I weaned my son... hmm maybe that's how I gained the weight!

Drinking more water is a great goal. I was really good about that when pregnant and I'm trying to drink lots again. It's supposed to help with cravings too- since sometimes when you feel hungry you're really just thirsty.

Hey!  I'm in the same boat - 27 and want to lose probably 20 pounds - I started at around 158 and I am now (month later) down to about 152.  It's so hard!  I snack too much at night.  I have a hard time just making myself go to bed; instead I end up searching for something to snack on - even though I usually end up eating relatively healthy things, they are adding up at night.  I feel like I consume about 60% of my calories after 5 pm.  Today was a bad day - but I just started my period so hopefully that accounts for some of the erratic eating and not staying on course today :(  Why does it take so long to lose it but it goes back on so quick??

We can do it!!  I'm glad to have found some people with similar goals.  Sometimes I feel like 20 pounds to lose is harder than 100.  :(

Hey girls,

I'm with you! I'm 25 and getting married in 5 months. I recently quit smoking and my weight rocketed up 10 pounds. I already wanted to loose a few before the wedding, and now I'm scared I won't fit in my dress :(

Luckily I have a very supportive fiance who actually enjoys working out! So my new gym regime starts tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Congratulations on quitting smoking, kreeks84!  That is an amazing accomplishment and so great for your health!

Katieann1982 - Snacking at night is really hard for me too.  It's like when dinner is over, I'm disappointed that I'm supposed to be done eating for the day and just find myself munching on whatever sounds tasty.

Anyway, off to the gym!  My gym is really small and there's only 1 elliptical so hopefully no one will be on it yet!

Have a good day everyone!

Bree
