Hi ladies/and gentlemen ..
I am very new here, so sorry if this subject has been discuess before! I am very curious about the "zig zag" calorie intake approach. Anyone ever tried/try it? Ive read alot on the subject and alot of people seem to think that tricking your body and keeping it on its toes (per say) makes you lose the weight quicker? Seems to be a good way of thinking but I am unsure and would like anyones imput if at all possiable? Thanks in advance.

I trick my body by hiding the chips. But then it gets really sad and ends up eating ice cream.
I never heard of zig zag but it sound pretty "thin". Do you want to make your body work harder for its food by using food alone, just increase the density of your food. Eat a cup of green beans with dinner, apple instead of chips, broccoli and less pasta, etc. Vegetables and dense foods (oatmeal is dense toast isnt) will makes you burn more calories when you eat, keep you full longer, regulate your insulin, increase the use of fat calories, and lower your calorie intake. Crazy what a sensible and healthy diet can do. How about that for tricking your body?
I do it all the time during the "diet" & if I hit a platuae I eat at maintience for a few weeks.
If you're losing weight with a 500-800 cal deficit this approach is not necissary, however this is how I do it:
There is NO structure. Some days I eat 1600 others I eat right under maintenience. If I'm hungry, I eat more...and generally I'm not as hungry the next day.
Example: M:1500 T: 2000 W: 1800 Th: 1600 F: 2000...weekends are off limits from cal counting/measuring (unless I'm at home then there's no excuse), however I still try my best to eat well and stay ACTIVE.
