I zipped my chub trying on pants!
How embarrasing! I was in the dressing room with my 9 year old daughter trying on vacation clothes. I couldn't decide rather I wanted the smaller size capris, which fit okay, or the larger size which fit okay but didn't lift my butt in the good butt lifting way.
I was undecided after trying both pairs of pants on twice so decided to just try once more - just to be absolutely sure that I was buying the right pair.
WELL, as I was zipping them up, I realized that I had zipped my hangy fat in the zip and had to zip it back off!!!!!!!!!! I looked at my daughter and said, "Well, that's made the decision for me." She was relieved. She hates shopping.
Now I have a scab where the zip sits on my new pants! Ouch! ![]()
Have you done anything embarrassing like this - or painful! Let me know so I don't feel so alone...haha!
Probably most of us have done something similar, but I'm not so sure I would announce it to the public ![]()

hahaha - that's why I did! It's part of the crazy times we all go through when losing weight. Hey, I'm happy to have zipped my chub in those pants. I was a size 32 when I started all of this. Those were small 20's!
OUCH! I've actually broken the zipper on a pair of pants I tried on once - that particular brand ran MUCH smaller than what I was used to, not to mention they were obviously not of the highest quality. Good thing I found out before I bought them! I left it in the dressing room and quietly walked out of there as quickly as possible! It happens to everyone in some way, shape or form.

lol !!
This is happening to me a lot cuz sizes at the stores are not consistent. I wear 18's in the States. I couldn't get an 18 over my legs here in England! Which, I'm resentful about cuz I'm American...and 18 sounds better than 20.
But, I digress..
I tried some pants on last weekend and, because they didn't fit, tried to hoist them over my butt. Well, they went over my butt but the loop I used to hoist them with came off in my hand.
Trial and error - I guess!?
daffy's dressing room- No curtains, just stalls. dresses are odd sizes; since it's a discount store.
Got stuck in a dress. I panicked. Couldn't even RIP it off. My arms and shoulders were stuck in it, and it wouldn't go over my chest. Dressing room was filled and I was trying to wiggle my way out of it and almost pulled my skin off!!!! SO EMBARRASSING!
Don't feel bad. I have an embarrassing dressing room story too.
One time I was by myself shopping in a little vintage store, and I saw this great 80's velvet party dress. It looked a lot smaller than what would fit me, but I liked it so much I decided to try it on anyway. Well, I got the dress down over my shoulders, and that was as far as it went! I was trying to take it off and it was pretty clear that it wasn't budging, although I tried really hard. The dress was expensive and I was afraid I was going to rip it, so I had to call for the fitting room attendant, tell her the dress was stuck, and she came into my dressing room and instructed me to put my arms out in a certain way so she could maneuver it off my shoulders.
I left with such a red face!
I've also had that "stuck in a dress moment of panic" ![]()
I was trying on a bridesmaid's dress and since it was a tiny boutique I had to share a closet/dressing room with the bride to be and another maid. It slipped on easy enough overhead but as I tried to take it off, it definitely met with some resistance. In the process of trying to wiggle out of it while the other two tried to help we heard this quick rip that made us all freeze for a minute (me with arms in the air, breasts out, face smothered in bunched up chiffon and tulle). When no one came in to screech at us we continued and eventually got it off. Luckily, there was no damage done. Unluckily, after I got it off I found a zipper hidden on the side.
I'm glad I'm not the only one! Little different circumstances...for my birthday I got a gift card to a store I'm not familiar with, so I went there to see if anything fit me. I was trying on a couple of things, none of which fit, when my boyfriend said we were going to be late for his mother's dinner. In a rush I pulled on MY dress (the one I wore in)...it was a bit tight I knew but lovely and (mostly) flattering and I wanted to impress his family that day...well, I couldn't get it zipped up. I rushed and pulled too hard and heard this awful tearing sound! I'd ripped the zipper completely loose from the back of the dress. I was trapped in the fitting room with nothing to wear out into the store to ask for help, much less to dinner that night! I had to call out for help...then ask the sales girl to help me find SOMETHING that fit so that I could buy it and leave the store. I ended up going to dinner that night in a pale blue, stretch-crocheted waist crepe mini skirt (TOO short) and white button-down ruched shirt that pulled at the bust. :( I was so embarrassed...
Happy ending: when I lost more weight my boyfriend surprised me with that same dress...he'd had the zipper repaired and the dress sized down too so it would fit right. He probably spent $100 or more on it, when the dress was a $50 thing from JC Penney, but it was so thoughtful and I loved it!

UK and US sizes aren't meant to line up, I think as a rough guide you add 2 or 4 which is great for me as when I come to the US I get to buy small sizes! (in my head anyway).
I don't think I've ever hurt my self trying stuff on but I've certainly had some horrible experiences. I once went to a shop to buy clothes to go to a hard house club (way back when) and they didn't make my size (at that time a UK 12 or US 8/10) i wasn't big back then but the other girls were twigs i guess. I tried the XL and it wouldn't go on I felt so awful I just sat on the floor and cried until my boyfriend came to rescue me.

That is an awesome ending to that otherwise embarassing (but hilarious) story! Your boyfriend is extremely thoughtful! How sweet!

When I was 7 months pregnant I went shopping for a new pair of maternity pants since I had gained 40 lbs since I bought my first pair.
I went into Old Navy and got a pair of jeans with a full panel in the front (in one size up from what I used to wear, being hopeful). In the dressing room, I grabbed onto the panel to pull the pants up, and the panel ripped right off the pants. It was so loud and I could hear the dressing room attendant stifle a laugh.
I just left the pants in the dressing room and wore sweat pants for the rest of my pregnancy (and 3 months after).
This was even more hilarious to me because when I read the title I thought the OP was a man, and I thought of There's Something About Mary. Anyhow, I've never done anything like this, but I was in a store when someone was trying on a shirt and ripped out her newly-pierced belly-button ring. Yuck.
I have tried on things and had trouble getting them off. Jeans are the worst for me though. I was a swimmer my entire childhood and teen years and I have really muscular thighs. I have huge problems finding jeans that will go over my thighs and not be like 4 sizes to big around my waist. I have definitely had Kim Kardashian moments, but with my thighs, not my butt.

a year ago (at 22) i was wearing some old jeans from highschool, they were slightly snug. well i went to get in my truck and the crotch ripped! i have weighed the same since highschool and continue to wear the same size jeans, but i was like "damn!" maybe it was cuz they were old? lol it was funny...

Haha I've had the exact same thing happen to me with my old favorite pair of jeans! The crotch ripped when I was stepping up to get into my Jeep. Not a good noise to hear.
I was once 20 minutes late for work (at a nursing home) because I got stuck in my sports bra and couldn't get it to budge up or down. It was a pull-over the head one with back clasps and the back was so rolled up it wouldn't move. Meanwhile in front it was cutting my tits in half. Everyone has an issue occasionally.
hahaha thanks everyone for sharing. I firmly believe you have to laugh these things off. These incidents are all just a lovely part in the huge journey of weight loss!
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
This is the best way to picture a portion of pie or cake: Draw a circle to represent the circumference of the cake or pie (9" pie? 10" cake?... Read more
